The First Baptist Church of Erwin, Tennessee seeks a qualified man or woman to serve as a part-time office administrator/ministry assistant.

The Ministry Assistant will:
model a clear commitment to Christ;
be personable and clear when communicating through various channels – by telephone, e-mail, social media, and in-person;
possess core computer literacy and software;
have a knowledge of (or a willingness to learn) suite of programs such as:
facilitate communication between committees, workgroups, boards, and staff;
be accurate and thorough in all work activities and troubleshooting;
have the ability to see the “big picture” of ministry activities;
work well with members and staff;
participate in all staff meetings and retreats and other events as directed.
This position fulfills the clerical, financial and promotional needs of the First Baptist Church of Erwin, Tennessee. The Office Administrator/Ministry Assistant shall assist the Pastor’s performance as undershepherd of the Church and the Board of Deacons and the Pastor in ministry endeavors. Employees of First Baptist are expected to live a life of moral integrity and should be members in good standing of an area church.
Prescribed hours are 12 hours per week at pay as set by the Church’s Personnel Committee. The days are Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00am -1:00pm. After 90 days a review and evaluation will be conducted by the Pastor and the Personnel Committee with recommendations to follow.
Preference given to those seeking or having completed baccalaureate or graduate studies in business or finance and/or those with past financial and administrative experience
Understanding of and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the First Baptist Church
Willingness to lead and assist people of varying ethnicities, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, genders, and generations
